2009 MLB All-Star Reserves

Here are the rest of the All-Star Game Rosters based on my opinion. This will be expanded off my previous post of which eight position players I would like to see start the All-Star game. The roster breakdown is as followed: eight fan-elected starting position players, eight reserve position players selected by player ballot, eight pitchers (five starters, three relievers) selected by player ballot, and eight players selected by the manager. There is also the additional fan vote after the All-Star rosters are announced. So basically, 17 reserve batters, eight pitchers, and eight starters. Remember that every team must have one representative. Asterisk indicates who I believe will be the starting pitcher for their respective teams.

  1. Alexei's been hot lately, but I still think Bartlett gets the call. Ramirez's low OBP worries me, as did his incredibly slow start. Some say Bartlett is the heart and soul of that team. He can't help that he was hurt...up until that point he was the top SS in the game.

Good work! Now beat the Cubbies for once!

  2. It is a close call because Ramirez has better power numbers, but only becasue he has about 80 more at bats than Bartlett. I'm not too big at punishing Ramirez who has been consistently healthy, just beacuse Bartlett has been hurt It will be interesting to see what the Rays do with Bartlett in the next few years with Brignac coming up. Don't forget they also have Tim Beckham waiting in the wings. He should be up by 2011 at the earliest though.
